The Cathedral CLARES

CLARES is a charity focused, cosmopolitan women’s group which meets each Wednesday from 9.30 am in the Li Hall, St Johns Cathedral, to sort and price donations to “Castaways”, our “new-to-you” shop also located in the Cathedral Close.

Some of the Clares attend the 9.30am Communion Service in the Cathedral before joining the group.

10.30am is the time to sit down for coffee, cake and conversation.

Members of Clares also staff the shop on a voluntary basis, enabling us to support many locally based charities.

Clares started in 1962 and since then the group has been a constant theme in an ever changing scene. Here we can meet and make friends, find support and work together to help others in the community.

New members are always welcome, short or long term. You do not have to be a member of the Cathedral.
