Lunchtime Recitals
The Wednesday Lunchtime Recitals has been an important contributor towards the local performing arts scene ever since its inception in 1970. Choir Chaplain at that time was Revd Patrick Nicholas, who noticed that a fair number of people working in Central would come to the Cathedral during lunch time to rest or relax. He then enlisted the help of Mr David Cheung Sr. and Miss Mary Moore in recruiting local performers and promotion, thus the Lunchtime Recitals were launched.
The Recitals have been most successful right from the start. There were regulars and new-comers all the time.
The Wednesday Recital is an informal presentation of music of all varieties. It encourages young talent to whet their appetite, provides a platform for amateurs and encourages an audience of all ages to come and listen. The Cathedral is a part of our proud history of Hong Kong, bearing witness to the missionary efforts of the Church of past and present times.
Please contact the Cathedral office for more information about how your group can perform at the Lunchtime Recitals.
