St John’s Pilgrimage to Shandong, China 2019

Date: 10 May 2019 to 18 May 2019

Date: 10th May to 18th May, 2019 (9 days)

Destination: Shandong province (Jinan, Mount Tai, Qufu, Qingdao)

Background:Shandong is one of the earliest areas in China that missionaries went to preach and establish the church. Today, it still has a large group of believers and many church buildings of various scales and history. During the pilgrimage, we will visit the several cities in the province under the arrangement of the Shandong Christian Church. In addition to understanding the development of the church in Mainland and communicating with local church leaders and believers, we will also visit the birthplace of Confucianism, Qufu, to know the culture that has influenced China for thousands of years. We will also visit the majestic mountain of Taishan. It is hoped that this journey will enable the pilgrims to understand the history of Christianity’s development in the Mainland, understand the opportunities and challenges they face today, and build fellowship with each other.
