The Cecilia Kwok Church Music Scholarship Fund offers scholarships of up to HK$100,000 to help young people pursue studies relevant to church music in establishments (in Hong Kong or overseas) approved by the trustees, to help develop their potential to become, in future years, choirmasters or organists at the Cathedral or its daughter churches.
Candidates should be:
- members of St John’s Cathedral, a daughter church or another Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui parish, or their children; or choir members there with two years good attendance;
- at least 12, and under 30, on 1st September 2024;
- musically talented and have at least these ABRSM grades (or equivalent);
- ABRSM grade 8 (or equivalent) in singing; or
- grade 6 (or equivalent) in piano with conducting experience; or
- grade 8 in piano or grade 6 in organ (or equivalent) with choral experience.
