Junior Choir

Established in 2006, St John’s Cathedral Junior Choir aims at introducing church music to young singers through singing and various training programmes. The Choir sings at the 9.00am Responsorial Eucharist every second Sunday of the month, and the 6.00pm Eucharist on Wednesdays during term time.

The Choir’s repertoire ranges from Gregorian chants to contemporary works. Over the years, the Choir has taken part in concerts and special occasions, such as the ‘Songs of Praise’ (a celebration for the 10th Anniversary of the Inauguration of the Province of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui) in May 2009, ‘Music for Everyone’ Fundraising Concert in 2008, and the 160th Anniversary of the Laying of the Foundation Stone Concert of the Cathedral in 2007. The Choir also premiered Kai-young Chan’s The Fruits of the Spirit (聖靈的果子) in June 2025.

The Choir meets on Sundays from 10:30am to 11:30am and on Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. We always welcome young enthusiastic singers who are 7 or above to join. For any enquiries, please contact Mr Coman Sheung, the cathedral’s Music Officer.
