Evensong Choir

St John's Cathedral is one of the few establishments within the whole of Southeast Asia that offers traditional BCP Choral Evensong services.

Choral Evensong is celebrated on every first and third Sunday of each month at 5.00pm from September to July. This traditional and particularly English style of evening prayer lasts for approximately an hour and contains choral music, hymns, prayers and a sermon.

For many years Choral Evensong were graced by voluntary services of many dedicated musicians. Currently the music is led by the auditioned Evensong Choir. The Choir welcomes experienced singers and capable sight-readers, and is actively recruiting tenors and basses. For more information on joining and audition please contact Cathedral's Assistant Director of Music Alan Tsang (atsang@stjohnscathedral.org.hk).
